We are in the process of getting all the 2003 tournament information online and are trying to decide whether to have one fish fry or three. They will be held after one or all three of the striper tournaments.

Opinions please!

Thanks,

JP

J.P.,

I see everyone is probably watching the Open Water Discussion and Bass Fishing threads, so I will give my opinion. I would definitely look at the three areas you will be holding the striper tournaments at. Make sure you can hold fish fries at the weigh-in locations. Example: On Cedar Creek, you might not want to hold a fish fry at the Caney City bridge public boat ramp due to the rough conditions of the boat ramp area. Make sure you pick a decent location to have the fish fry, like the Sunny Glen area on HWY 198. And if need be, make sure it's ok with the locals no matter what lake you pick. If you only have one, I think it should be Cedar Creek(cause I plan on being there!).

Good Luck with the planning,

AS OF 12-10-2000 THE CANNEY CITY RAMP ON CEDAR CREEK HAS BEEN CLEANED UP VERY GOOD.THEY ALSO CLEANED OUT UNDER THE TREES THERE AND THIS SHOULD BE ENOUGH ROOM FOR THE FISH FRY.MABY SOME ONE ELSE CAN CHECK IT OUT AND GIVE THERE VIEW ON IT.

If your going to do one at CC then you might check with Log Cabin
I know we rent out there "Red Barn" for $25 a day,its large enough for 200 people.. and they have a good ramp aswell...

The only problem I would see with Log Cabin is the low clearance of the bridge. Depending on the time of year and the water level, I do not think most center consoles would be able to go under the bridge. Other than that I would vote for a fry at all three venues.

HERE IS SOME INSIGHT ON THE WATER LEVEL AT CEDAR ON THE TOURNAMENT WEEK.
ALL IMFO. ARE FROM LUKE CLAYTONS REPORT.
8-8-2002------5 IN LOW
8-9-2001------1.2 FT. LOW
8-10-2000-----1.31 FT.LOW
THE BEST I CAN REMENBER IS THAT IN 1999 WE HAD A DROUGHT AND THE LAKE WAS ABOUT 4 FT. LOW.
IF EVERYONE CAN GET THERE BOATS TO MAIN LAKE LOG CABIN SOUNDS REALY GOOD.
IF I CAN BE OF ANY HELP FEEL FREE TO CONTACT ME.

_Hey JP: I will make as many as I can Buddy!

_One thing to concider is the Bridge situation on Cedar Creek. If the lake level is anywhere near normal they will be inpassable to a center console! You would have to trailer in the C/C Boys!!

_That leaves Big Chief, Cedar Creek Landing R.H. Lee's Camp Grounds (Up By The Dam/East Side)or Don's Port for good center console access. My vote would be for R.H. Lee's..plenty or room for a C/C crowd there. See thats why I have a Bass Boat... Easy Access Yall!

_The Public Ramp where we had the 2002 Crappie Tournament is a Lunar Landscape.
Pot Hole City Limits!! Aint fit to launch a canoe from!

_Good Luck and Happy Holidays Yall!

Let's make the headquarters at Hooters somewhere....or if someone has a big party barge, we could have the weigh-in, etc. right on the lake! What a radical idea...
