The bite you felt on the fluke was most likely fish moving it off their beds. That's how they were biting today. They were just moving off with baits. Most bites were not real noticeable. Some were, but most were just a slight move off.

Yeap...I know....I've been in the funk lately and can't seem hook em up....never had such a hard time as I am having this year...however, I started thinking it may have been any one of the million gar I saw today....I teased one about 6 foot long into hitting my jig then thought if you hook this thing then whatcha gonna do....

How deep was the drilla you found? I'm only asking because I'm wondering if it is going to live with all the new water on top of it.

We fished all dauy with only a few decent bites up to 3 puonds,
I took a picture and weighed an 8.7 for a guy who didnt have anyuone woth him to do it. Really pretty fish, still had a belly full of eggs.

I had at least 4 or 5 fish follow a swimbait all the way back to the boat and never strike it?????? I slowed it down, sped it up, jerked it and paused it and they would follow the thing but never bite. Very frustrating.
