I've landed one crappie off of the bridge by lake Palestine resort and it had tumors on it. Tried all morning for a shallow bite. Nothing!!!

Where all have you been? I'll be there in the morning and don't want to follow behind what you have already found out.

If people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles.

I went all the way up Ledbetter. Fished from the bridge all the way up to the very back in all depths. Couldn't get a bite shallow. It was awful.

Brother and I caught 27 fish today. Had to fish around to find them. we found them in 15'-20' of water, fishing 12' deep. No, shallow fish that we found. Talked to 3 other guys fishing shallow, 1 guy had 3 fish, and 2 guys had 2 fish.

Paided off putting out Brush Piles this winter. Glad we took the time.

About 15 piles like this.

And 15 like this.

I guess maybe I'll try up by the villages marina tomorrow? Never been up there before, but looks like there's some timber up that way.

They were catching them good in the Kickapoo area the last two days. There is a public ramp right by where all the boats were fishing. We were bass fishing this weekend but it looked like fun!

Tough fishing Timber. It is all covered with water, so finding the timber with limbs and such are hard to find. With all the water, unless you are experience on a lake, it is hit and miss. With this much water, it is best to be fishing the lake you have the most experience with until water get back to normal. That's why we stayed with Brush Piles, fished several until we found a pattern, and then focused on that deep, and went to work.

I talked to a few guys that were in Kickapoo, and they catch a few, but no numbers. Were a lot of people there, but that doesn't translate into catching fish. Don't get me wrong they may have been loading the boats. We just pulled in and talked to about 3 guys loading their boats, and non had above 15. But at this time of the year, they are in Kickapoo thicker than thieves. In years past(for years), I have fished Kickapoo Creek that runs under Hwy-31 (Up & Down the creek), and Neches that runs under Hwy-31 (Up & Down the creek) and it is alot better fishing during the Sand Bass Run, than it is during Spawning crappie. When you catch the right day, you can catch some fish. But Not Everyday Is The Right Day. During the Sand Bass Run, I may go 20 days, and really get'm 2-3 days, the rest of the days, are 8-10 fish. And the Sand Bass Run is alot better run than the crappie run.

If you fished Kickapoo today give us a report. As many boats as was there, someone has to be on here. A lot of boats fishing right on top of each other.

Not trying to keep anyone from going, just trying to give you information to make the best decision for catching some fish.

I fished the heck out of kickapoo, shallow, deep, bridges, overpass, you name it. I caught two big drum.

I guess they are up on brushpiles! We even went to 155 big bridge midday and couldndidn't find even 1 crappie, only sandbass and catfish.
