I headed out to Lavon yesterday thinking the water would be stained and the fish wouldn't be biting much. Boy was I wrong. The water was off colored somewhat, so I went to my trusty Salt and Pepper Pearl Slab Bandit jig (its an orange color) and they fish bit it the whole time I was there. I only had a couple of hours to fish but took this home for dinner.  I went back out today to the same spot I went to yesterday, and the fishing wasn't as good, but they still were biting pretty good. Lots of small ones today, but took this batch home for the freezer. Fished with the same jig as yesterday. Fish didn't seem interested that much in minnows, but I did catch a few keepers both days on minnows. With Lavon finally at full pool (actually 1 ft over pool), the fishing should only get better.
