I was a river rat in the 80's and got a great deal on a 16' Hobie Power Skiff from a friend. I did the most important things first like adding hot pink pin striping and added fishing stuff as I became more addicted. I had quite a crazy deal put together by the time I outgrew it. I wish I had it back now that I don't tournament fish because the thing was absolutely bullet proof!

My first boat was a 2 man bass buster. I was a sophomore in high school and me and my friend went in partners on it together. Couldn't fish more than 3 hours on the water with it cause it had a tendency to take on a little water.
After graduation I bought a Skeeter SD125 with a 115 Suzuki. That was a great boat.

The fastest stick steering boat I've ever seen. It was a wild drive.
I kept it a couple years till I was doing some cleaning and came upon the steering cable tag that said "this steering is for motors up to 65 horsepower". I sold it to a friend just wanted a fishing boat. He took the big Mercury off and put a 50 on it.

Dang, My dad gave a top tenner with a 50 horse merc on in when I was in high school. And I thought that thing would scoot. That old boat led to a lot of days skipping school.I did know a guy that had on old Skeeter Metro with a worked over 150 on it. That thing was scary.

1971 Raycraft w/ a Mercury 115, Mercury Thruster troll motor and 2 Humminbird "Super 60's" flashers, all on a Shoreline trailer. Brand new price = $2,300. That boat would fly with that 115.

1960 14' Richline semi-v bottom with a '56 Evinrude 30hp. I put carpeted decks on it front and rear. My mother had an upholstery shop and built my folding seats from scratch and they were better than anything you could buy at the time. One of the most fish catching boats I have ever owned. This was in 1970.

Like me for what I am, or don't like me at all.

1950 LoneStar (14') with 1969 Johnson 25hp - still have it and still fish out of it in places lots of bigger boats can't get in.
