This cold front coming through, will it mess up this weekend?
Was planning on hitting Ray Roberts, and wondering if my odds just dramatically decreased on catching some slabs due to this dang cold front today.??? Anyone have experience on spawn fronts coming in and how many days is usually good after???
so far here is weather forecast below.. Wind looks awesome!
Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 78. East southeast wind between 5 and 10 mph. Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 78. South southeast wind around 10 mph.

I think with the weather being as nice as it is and the wind not blowing, you are just gonna have to get out there anyway. I'm planning on taking off tomorrow and going, even if they are boogered a little bit.

Cold front + flooded creeks = not good for a few days.

There was no True cold front today. This is just from being stuck under the upper level low that brought us the big rains. I'll be looking shallow in the next few days. 80 degree weather will help.

It could potentially but that is spring fishing.
I recommend going out with the mindset that somehow, somewhere, somebody is catching them. That is usually the case on tourney day no matter how bad the conditions. So just keep moving till you find them.
I would focus in the 0-12 ft. range. If you don't have any luck there back out a little deeper to say 12-18.
Good luck!

Spend your time in 12 to 17 feet close to shallow hard bottom spawning area, they will be suspended in that depth range.

Just MHO but the temp and pressure variations have been so slight, If I had been out the day before & catchin, I'd go out to the very same spots the day after and try my hand. The fish prolly haven't moved much if any.

They aint gone nowhere!!! Totally agree. If anyone is talking themselves out of going fishing anywhere in North Texas this weekend....then you're just making more room for the rest of us, cause once the crappie lock-in on the spawn (and they have), little if anything will make a change until they're finished. Just don't go out there with a mind-set that they're either really shallow or, for that matter, really anything. Every good, successful crappie fisherman on this forum knows that fish can be caught every time, any where....unless you go brain dead when you get to the lake. Good luck

They have quit biting here on Cypress. At least they are not biting under the boathouses I've been fishing. Not sure if the cold front or the falling water level is the cause. They could have just pulled out deeper. You can't catch them if you don't go! I'd start out in 10-12' & work deeper until you find them - somebody will!

If they weren't hitting yesterday and last night, that will make them hungry for my jigs and minners on saturday. Good luck ya'll. Michael Onewolf

0 feet- I don't eat fish with legs! How bout frog legs? Those are tasty. Sorry I must have got confused by my GPS. Sometimes my GPS map shows I'm fishing on dry land.
