Going to fish amistad for 1 day. I have not been there in 4 years. What area of the lake should I concentrate on for a sucessful fishing trip? I will be there the 25th of March. Points or coves?

It is way low but my girlfriend and I fished in the cove by 277 last weekend and caught 20 plus fish each, just nothing over 3lbs. Keep an eye on your depth!

I haven't fished it in a while but this is my favorite depth level. It brings an unbelievable ammount of structure into play. Just about any area of the lake is a blast for finding and fishing off shore structure.

if you want numbers can't go wrong with the sinko or a suspending jerkbait

Definately up river for numbers and size. Females are moving shallow so anywhere from 3-15ft on swimbaits and worms.

I was there all last week and had a ton of success in the back of Box Canyon and the back of other creeks. I caught all my fish in the middle of the channels leading back to the spawning beds. The depth I fished was between 8 and 15 feet and we just tore it up. Caught two fish 7 plus pounds. Senko's were all they would bite though.
