So mapping out mods for my WS 115...I realized I cant really access the back end underneath..Mines standard w/o flush mounts.

I wanted to install to scotty's BC holders instead...But what would be the best way to install them if I cant bolt em underneath?

Thanks guys!

Use rubber rivnuts/wellnuts. They should do the trick and are better then rivets IMO. thumb

Why don't you get some GearTrac from YakAttack and mount some rod holder on it like that? Here are a couple of pictures of what I did on a Ride 135.

Here is a link on installing GearTrac on the Ride.

Gear tracs would be a great option, no doubt...But for now I need a less expensive option.

But then again... noidea

WaffleJaw,

In front of your cup holder you should have a rectangular area designed for adding accessories such as depth finders/rod holders etc. This area is pretty easy to access from your front hatch.

http://www.scotty.com/fishing-gear-equipment/rod-holders/powerlock.
You could add a simple Scotty rod base there. I'm using them on my boats and yaks. IMO they are inexpensive, versatile & durable thumb

You might consider bonding an angled piece of, primed & painted treated wood to make that area flat 1st.
If you dont youll end up with this...

This will work but it a lil low and not at the right angle to work the way it was designed.

So once you get your angle right, drill your 4 holes through your scotty base, wood & hull, then add some stainless hardware. Think I used 4 stainless bolts/4 stainless washers/4 stainless Teflon lock nuts/4 rubber washers. IMPORTANT!!! Don't forget to reinforce the inside of your yak behind the plastic. IMO this is your week point or stress point.
Use marine goop or 100% clear silicone to make it all watertight between everything. wait for it to dry before you trim the silicone with an exact-o or razor blade and your ready to row!
The whole project should run you about $25-$40 & be completed within 1 day depending on how much you already have on hand.

Later you can add a triple rod holder like i did but for now a single rod holder will get it done. If you add holders later to the sides tracks you could move your sonar unit to the center scotty base. Scotty's sonar mounts:
