Myself and Fred "Rionator" made a West Texas Fishing trip. We started at Fort Clark Springs in Bracketville and fished the Los Moras creek. We fished from 11am till 3pm and caught 20 nice Longear. We also caught a few nice Red Spotted sunfish that were a little over 6". The Longear were between 7 and 7.75" in length. The bite was slow. All fish were caught on worms and meal worms. Fish were caught using bottom techniques. All fish were released. A super relaxing day fishing a very nice creek. fish

Thanks "Tun3R". Fred said he needed to get a big Longear for the contest because he figured you may be hitting the Salado or Cibolo. He posted his first 7" Longear right from the bank in Bracketville. hooked That creek is loaded with big Longear. thumb

You're making me homesick now, with this and the Amistad lake post. I was born and raised in Del Rio and have many fond memories of fishing that area. Did you visit the San Felipe Springs? You can see the HUGE bass and Bluegill swimming in the crystal clear water. Thanks for sharing.

Mark 6:31-32
He said unto them "Come with me to a quiet place and get some rest. So they went away by themselves in a boat to a solitary place"

"BoneyStringers": I love fishing the Delrio, Bracketville area. thumb Those spring fed waters are hard to beat. That whole area is very relaxing to say the least. We drove by the San Felipe Springs behind the Delrio Golf Course but could not find any place to fish. Once it warms up I plan to fish Amistad for some serious Blue Gills. hooked

Nice catch guys. Really like the colors on those fish. How far of a drive is that from SA? That creek really looks full.

Thanks "Gitter for the reply. The fort is one of the most relaxing places to fish. fish Also like you said it is rich with history. There are several historical markers throughout the fort. General Patton lived on the fort years back. thumb

The creek runs throughout the whole fort. It is pretty shallow in most places. Bracketville and the Delrio area could really use some rain. banana
