Are there different scenarioswhere you guys will pick one or the other or is it personal preference? And as far as spinnerbaits how muddy does the water have to get before you go from a double willow leaf to a colorado/willow combo?

My take on this may be off, but personally I have been using a chatter bait when I think they are after crawdads, and would default back to a spinnerbaits if they are eating shad.

I am new to the chatter bait, but seems its a slow lower in the water column bait for me, where I would throw a spinnerbaits shallower in the water column.

But, as I said I'm new to the chatter bait and have used more draw colors, they may very well work in shad colors and style.

Chatterbait by Zman is the best in my opinion. 3/8 is my favorite. Since the intro of the chatterbait I have not thrown a spinnerbait. To me the chatter bait will out fish the SB. Just my opinion. When I did throw a SB I liked the single Colorado #4 on a chart 3/8 oz. My 2nd choice would be a 3/8 oz Colorado/willow gold blades always. Chart/white. In dirty/stained water.

Chart/White gold blades. Hard to beat it. Works everywhere I have been. Won lots of money with it, just about every year.

From my experience the spinnerbait is much more weed proof.

Ok I dumped it. I thought they would delete or fall off over time. The SB is more weedless no doubt.

When do yall throw a spinner with a Colorado/willow combo as opposed to a double willow leaf?

double willow smaller (1/4, 3/8 oz) spinners in clear water, combo blade (1/2 oz) in stained, and I go to the chatterbait when the water is stained to muddy and fish it as slow as I possibly can. With spinners, I fish them higher in the water column (no deeper than 12 o 18 inches) to get the reflective qualities from the surface. With a chatterbait, I like to let it settle a little more and let the vibrations work through a larger column of water, usually about 1/2 of what the depth is is where I like to run the chatterbait.

I concur with everything u typed, but this...don't underestimate the vibration that a Colorado blade emits in deeper water...you're missing out if u don't ever give it a try in the "depths"...can be a killer slow-rolled deeper in the water column.. banana
