So, if you were going to Falcon this week and had already spooled a reel for deep cranking with 15 lb. fluoro would you strip it off and respool with 12 lb. mono?

Depends on the diameter. Some 12lb mono are thicker than the 15 lb flouro. If it is a good quality flouro the. The diameter will likely still be smaller and still get deeper... And be stronger. And it sinks.
Big game 12 lb is .014 diameter Seaguar red label 15lb is only .013 diameter. The red label will run a crank deeper.

I was thinking there wouldn't much of a difference. That's why I went with 15 lb.Invisx but a guide I respect down there said he uses 12 lb. mono.

If i am not mistaken, most all CB manufactures running depth is figured on using 12 lb mono. But BB is right, its all about line diameter.
