The 5 1/2 yo grandson is spending the weekend with me,and told me he wanted to make some of those "fish hooks" we fish  .... Had a pretty good mess by the time we were done,but several were completed,and by the last few he was doing most of the work,,,didnt quite get,or want to try the half hitch,but applying the eye's are his specialty now !!!!

Might have created a monster  We had to get everything back out after dinner last night for round #2............ Heard some rustling around the house @ 6:00 this morning,really 5:00 old time.He coulldnt quite reach the light in the dining room,but somehow with just the back porch light shinning through had managed to get the vice set up,hook in the jaws ,and was in the process of getting his tails trimmed up

Wait till he catches a fish on one of "HIS" jigs. Man will you have your hands full then. Way to go grandpa. Teaching em young...keeps em young....forever.

Well that's good, even looks like he did not glue any fingers together. Nice jigs he has there, hope you take him fishing and he catches Crappie on his jigs.

This post brings back memories of teaching my own kids and gkids how to make fishing tackle. All of them can make their own.
My Great Grandson is 6 months old and am waiting until he's old enough to learn. CH
