I rig it with a cut swivel, bead, and then a bullet sinker...thats the order from the bottom to the top under the hook.

so when I shake it, it clacks a bit.

I love the drop shot...I always break it out, especially if I am having a tough day.

Nice....however, that can get expensive real quick when fishing dense cover. I do fish it this way though whenever the chances of getting hung up is not likely.

Stay away from the dropshot, waste of money and time. Drag a 10" worm around.

Are you using the braid with a flouro leader?
What knot do you use to join the lines?

I've always used 6 lb line, started out with mono but now use fluoro, never caught any real toads on it but did get one in the boat that was right under 5 lbs on fairfield up in the timber, that was fun on light line!

I've been using 30# Braid and 12# InvisX tying a Uni to Uni knot...both of these lines have an 8# mono diameter, so I try to utilize the extra line strength and still get some distance out of a cast with 1/8oz lead. I use a Dobyns 702 and a Stradic 3000CI4 setup and I can't put it down!

What are the advantages/disadvantages of going with 10# braid and 15# Fluoro? I may switch it up a little to experiment...

Use the least amount of weight you can get away with = more natural fall. I use a 1/8oz pecil style weight almost exclusively.

Big thanks to my man DEREKG for getting me hooked on this fish catching technique. This dude can make a heck of a d-shot rod too!!

Yep, that rod is awesome! I don't know whether to be mad at you or happy that you let me "borrow" one of your spinning setups! Here's my new setup for the hunt for my PB this weekend! rolfmao

Sometimes a drop shot is all they will bite. You have to kinda tinker with the baits and depth but once you find them, you can catch fish the same way pretty steady. At least for that same day as long as the weather doesn't change much.

I have a Largemouth at home....sometimes she lets me go fishing.
