Has anyone fished lake gilmer lately? I need an update; I have a tournament there next weekend. Let me know how you caught them, and where at if you did.
Also, what lakes in Woodcounty, besides Fork, have you guys been successful at lately?

only fished fork and holbrook myself. fork is fork and holbrook is a great numbers lake with some good fish in it but you do have to weed through the little ones, great place to take kids and beginners and definitely one of the safer lakes to run in east texas. also i have heard that lake quitman has some bigguns in it. it's just hard to talk myself into driving past fork to go there.

I used to fish Gilmer quite a bit. It's been about five years. We always did well back under the bridge in the spring, lots of cover and bedding areas. There's also some coves as you go toward the dam on the left that have shallow, sandy bottoms. LOTS of beds in there. If you want deeper, throw your C-rig down near the dam off the long points.
Good luck.

Others to check out might be Quitman, Winnsboro and Hawkins.
