Zebco has some saltwater versions out that hold up very well. I picked up a couple at academy for folks who fish with me that can't use bait casters. I have had them in salt water two years and no issues. Don't recall the model but they are blue and silver with stainless.

The Zebco Omega Pro might be of interest to you. You can find it at Cabela's. But think it is a little expensive. But does have some good rateings for a spincast reel.

I fully agree and have had several children land 36" reds with one and they ain't never made a catfish that can pull like that.
Excellent drag for an enclosed face spinning reel.

I've got an old Zebco One Classic that I've had for years. It was given to me by my grandpa and it's never needed any kind of maintenance beyond applying a little oil every once in a while. Got the bait alert, power lever, feather touch cast control, and pulls in 22" of line per crank. I've found a couple on e-bay awhile back. May check there as they haven't made them in some time.

I haven't been real happy with none of the zebco's I've owned over the last 10-15 years. Just don't last like the old old models. I would looked at some of the other brands before zebco unless they've made improvements in the past 6 years.

The problem is they're all made in China these days. frown I don't know what it is about the Chinese but they either can't or won't make a product worth a mouse fart. If you're gonna get a Zebco reel that is worth its salt you're gonna have to do a little bit of searching for the stuff made pre 1990. Its out there though, ya just have to look.
