I am interesting in tubing so that I can get off the bank fishing until I can get a boat. What are the pros and cons of fishing from a tube and what are the setbacks, dangers etc. Thanks for all the information

Cheap way to get off the bank, tube $60-80, fins 35-40, life jacket of some sort.

Pick a area of the lake to fish, especially areas boats dont or cant fish. I like to fish a large cove and fish one end to the other get out and walk back to the car.

They are great for ponds that have a weed line you cant cast over from the bank but can from a small tube from the water side.

I been fishing tubes for 35+ years from canvas covered tubes to my kickboat and I have more fun in a tube fishing small waters then in bass boats on big waters.

You will also learn to fish slower and be thorough.

fun catching a 5+ lb bass and having it turn your tube around.

disadvantages? Your in the water up to your waist. SNAKes can be a problem, But I havent had a problem with any YET. Gators if you live in those areas prone to them. usually can carry 1 or 2 poles.

You can spend alot or alittle on tubes, or pickup a good used.

TUBES, they are what you make of them. soap thumb
