Anyone have any good ideas on how to secure their liscense plate to the boat trailer. Mine apparently had a plastic bracket and broke off somewhere between the lake and home. Should I just replace it with a galvanized one, if so, who sells a good one. I do not want to keep going to the DMV to get a replacement licsense plate. Thanks in advance.

I had that happen to me last month and I just made my own. Went to Lowes and baught a piece of flat 1/8 in aluminum and cut it into the 3 pieces I needed to make a bracket and bolted it on.

I bought a metal bracket from an auto parts store then some over sized washers and a small length of flexible wire. I put the bracket on but when I bolted the plate to the bracket I also ran the wire inside the washers to another bolt on my trailer. That way if it does fall off I can just dust the plate off and put it back on. Hope this helps.
