I'm anxious to get to CC for the first time this year. When I check some online weather sites it appears that while the wind in the metroplex is 15-20+mph they say the wind at CC is around 10mph. Can there really be that much difference? Before I drive 1.5 hours to get there can someone near CC verify if the wind weather sites are correct? I realize that "correct" and "weatherman" is often an oxymoron.
Thanks

I have a digital weather station next to my boathouse on CCL and it is currently showing 0 mph and looking out my window, my flags are limp on the flagpole.
Obviously, that doesn't mean a thing for later this morning but, that is the current status. And, I do find that wind here is typically less than predicted for the DFW area. Just like anyplace, the weather is a [censored] shoot vs what the weatherman predicts.

Night fishing is the way to go with the high winds doing the day light hours. I would like to try fishing at night on CC from the boat for some slab crappie.

Picks up and then lays down. Right now, it's layed down again and flags are limp. Who knows about 15 minutes from now? Not me, for sure.
