How does the action of the 7.5 compare to the 10' model. I understand the 10'er has a nice soft tip for casting distance. I plan to throw 2-3oz of weight with the 10'er. What is the action like on the 7.5 footer? Is it more like a broomstick or is it kinda soft also? What is the lightest weight you would recommend on the 7.5? I would most likely be throwing 1oz weights with the shorter rod. Will the 7.5 do well with only 1 oz of weight or is it too stiff?
Thanks

I have several different "catfish rods", like the catmaxx and tangling with catfish rods. There nice, but pretty much stiff as a broom stick. The Pro-anglers are not broom sticks, and not too flimsy either. Pretty much a happy medium of action with enough backbone.

Best rods you could ever buy. I have thrown from any were from 2 oz weights to 6 oz weights. I use both the 7.5 and the 10 and I don't see much of a different. I use them both on the boat and the bank

I have had both. The 7 footer is better if you are on a boat, but if you casting from the bank you can't beat the 10 footer. I was casting anywhere from 100 to 120 yards on this past weekend. I put a 4oz weight and hey buddy. Never felt like it was going to break. The only problem was when you hit a fish. you ares would be gone by the time you got them in. Luckyly I had some 8 to 10 year oild boys that were eager to reel for me. They had a blast.

I have both and I like both, I use anywhere from 1-3 on the 7.5 and up to 5oz on the 10'. I can throw 95% of the line off my 6500 with the 10'.
Having fun is hard work sometimes! Not the biggest but big enough!
