Had a pretty good day throwing one. Even caught a few that were no longer than the worm itself. I'm a believer after today and I love how easily it moves through brush. Under appreciated/under utilized? Thoughts...

I have some LFT and Powerbait 10-inchers in my bag but have yet to throw em. What worms you using and what size hook? I bought some 6/0 Gammies for mine. I'm going to throw em one of these days.

Caught a bunch of fish on a 10" LFT Worm and on the Mann's Jelly Worm. Those who doubt them have yet to catch a fish on them. Every once in a while you catch one that is small compared to what you are throwing, but most of the time the bigger fish will take the bait.

I am a true 10" power worm fisherman. I was at Fork for 2 weeks the last of feb and first of march. I threw my confidence 10" worm the first week try for a big bite. I caught a few fish with the biggest being a 8 pounder. I decided to switch to a 7" worm the last week to see if I maybe would get more bites. Man did I! The last Tuesday morning of my trip I caught 16 bass the first 2 hours. My first cast that morning I caught a 6. I keep catching fish and at 8:40 a.m., I caught a 10 pd 10 oz HAWG. It was the best day of the 2 week trip. I think bass want a smaller worm in the spring now. I still love my 10 incher though.

The bigger worms definitely have a time and place, like our F8. For instance, sometimes the huge Mann's Jelly Worm on Hubbard Creek will get your arms jerked off. Other times, not one bite.

Here's a trick to try when using those really big worms. When you thread your hook through the nose of the worm, keep threading the hook on the worm like you would be putting a night crawler on a perch hook. Go way down the shaft of the hook with the worm. Then come out and hook back into the worm. The line will be running through the middle of the worm and this will place your hook back toward the middle of the worm. This will eliminate short strikes on the worm. Fish seem to hit the big worms in the middle and unless you give them time to swallow it, you come back with half the worm. This way, the hook is in the middle of the worm, providing better hook-ups.
