Headed to Ray Roberts tomorrow -- putting in at Johnson Branch State Park. First trip there this year... any advise is appreciated with depth, lures, colors.. really anything helpful.

FYI the grass is about 3'-4' deep since the lake level has risen. Keep that in mind. Smaller fish are shallow. The better fish are around the "deeper" grass line if grass is present. Red lipless was working best when I was out on Wed.

That wouldn't be a wise decision if you can launch else where. The wind is gonna pound it. You can go to sanger and unload and fish the marina there's always good fish to be caught there

live to fish! fish to live!

Where did u find grass.? spent the afternoon around buck creek and pierce area. Could not get a bite pitchin to the brush. 3 fish came shallow on a spinner bait. Nothin big 2.5 pounds biggest. The wind was horrible, I didnt want to try to make it to any of the northern creeks. Be careful the lake is down and the stumps seem to be just below the surface.

the LSS it out there this Saturday so the lake will have a good crowd on it, but the grass is good in sand and indian, traps and spinner baits the grass is also as barn said a little deeper, so the bigger fish are there but they will be moving up this next week if the warm weather keeps up. good luck.

Thanks for the tips. Urghhh, didn't realize the LSS was out there today. How many boats are estimated in that tourny?
