if i lived closer to water i would go alone alot. having to pay all the gas and then all the other expenses when your looking at 400 miles to lake and almost 4 bucks a gallon.. i dont mind days trips by myself i just dont care for the overnight trips solo.. i like to go with a group and then fish alone..

I fish alone about 95% of the time and prefer it that way. I have a really good set of bluetooth headphones and if i'm not in the mood for music I will have some good audiobook loaded up. I find nothing more relaxing. BTW: Loading/Unloading the boat alone becomes simple.

If I waited to fish with someone else, I'd mostly be waiting. I fish alone about 80% of the time. I do enjoy selective company sometimes but also the solitude of being in my boat and fishing alone. Sure is hard to take pictures by yourself though.

Thanks for all the comments guys. I feel much better knowing I'm not the only guy to fish alone, laugh at my own farts and of course try to launch the boat quickly with the straps still attached, lol.

I normally fish with my wife but, when solo time is needed I go at it alone like today. Especially new lakes..... Much better for me to find some key spots before taking the wife. Nothing worse than hearing how terrible a lake is when it's your first or fifth time there and still haven't located a few sweet spots.

I go alone very often unless a friend calls or I put the word out that I'm going. I have a CHL so I don't worry at all.

The most important thing about fishing alone is to have a system in place.
Step 1 put plug in boat. 2. remove straps. 3. etc. It is very important to do it the same always and not get in a hurry due to a long line of folks waiting. If you break your system you will end up sinking without a plug.

Boatless for minute

When I want to do some serious fishing, I go alone.

I fish alone abut 50% of the time. I use that time to try out new techniques. When I have a buddy with me, I'm always worrying about keeping the boat in the right position for them and even leaving them some clean water to fish in. I know, I know...you don't need to say it smile
