27 is huge for that boat. Your hole shot has to be really bad. 23 sounds more like it.

Did the boat come with a 27 on it? I would think it should be running closer to a 24 or 25 pitch prop.

You need a tempest plus 23p. You are lugging your motor with a 27p witch is not good for it.

My hole shot is horrible. I don't know what it came with i am the second owner. It is a 2010. Will a 24 not hurt my top end to bad.

To big of prop for a 150. You need a 23-24. You will probably be amazed at how much better it will run

I suggest you look through this forum, it is much more technical for boat setups.

http://www.bbcboards.net/zeromain

If your engine rpm limit is say 6000, you should be turning very near that at top speed, if not and you are around 5000 you are really lugging the engine which IS bad for long term longevity. From what I have seen, most people with 150's are turning 22-23 pitch, 3-4 blades. Any good prop shop like B&B Propeller in Fort Worth can add cup to the tips and blades to get even better hole shot, acceleration, and overall performance.

I would be shocked if it didn't improve it, i doubt you can turn that 27 good on the topend, much less holeshot.

23p tempest or maybe a 24 trophy plus would be your best bet with that rig.

both have advantages and disadvantages on their handling and driving characteristics etc.

before you buy another prop you should try and find someone to let you run one at the lake a bit before you order one to decide.

60mph top end in irrelevant if it takes you 30 min. to get there. Way, way too much prop. I have a 28 on a 300XS.

I have a 2011 stratos with a 200 pro xs on it. The prop cabelas put on ot is 27 and it is not right. Hole shot sucks and I have not got the boat over 53 mph. Havent had the rpms over 4500 either and that was on it. I am thinking I need a 25?Boat has hot foot and I have never had it before so I am still getting used to it so that may have something to do with it but I still think the prop is a problem.

2GS- if that is a 294 then that 27 is what you need. Its all about set-up.

If you are on here much, you might realize there are a lot of guys on here that know what they are doing also. I have been on BBC for years and have seen a lot of good info and some truly bogus BS being passed off as knowledge. You just have to sort through it.
