I fished Ray Roberts today and got completely skunked. It was my first time on the lake. I fished very thing from shallow to 20'. What was I missing besides fish?

Don't feel bad that lake will humble most everybody.

we tore them up this morning, best bite was shallow near timber and rocks

took 4 pounds tonight at the working man tourney. Dont feel bad... even the locals struggle.

I put in at the 377 bridge and fished both side all day. I saw quite of few boats come and go out of this fork. I assume this is a good spot?

was out there monday from noon to 6. 3 fish...2 on half ounce jig, 1 on red crank. it was my first time on the lake as well, but you would think for all the hype this lake gets people would have better results. also, i had no idea how bad the trees were. figured there would be a lane or something. this makes no sense to me, which is why its going to be a while before i go back. unless anyone wants to let me follow them up the lake lol

Be strong my brotha...That lake has humble many a good stick on this forum.

happens to everyone. there is a lane. its the creek channel. but its not really marked. gotta know how to use your maps. and you have to be brave lol. me and my dad never go fast through them we like to idle around and look for 'good' spots.

Yea I bet they were all day up until about 6 oclock. I went to the firs tspot I wanted to fish and there was 16 boats. 100 percent used water. The lake is getting absolutely pounded. I can assure you I would have caught em had I of been out there in the morning.

btw... not one of those boats were in our little tourney.
