I tried to go up in gravel crossing yesterday morning on the kayak and the water was really muddy after all that rain, fishing wasn't too great. When people said you can actually see the old road or bridge at the ramp(which is completely unusable now) they weren't kidding, the water is ridiculously low. But I met a guy named Chuck at the ramp and stayed with him most of the day, he was able to catch 4 whites on a white/orange plastic shad pattern. The bite was really slow, I missed a couple at the bank and he caught a bass at almost every other hole we went too. Seemed as if there was only a couple fish at every spot. We headed back and he decided to go towards the lake while I went home, not sure how did did after that.
But for spring break me and a couple buddies are trying to go fish Belton, this is the first time I'm going to fish belton off a boat in about a year so ANY information about ANY fish would be appreciated. Fishing off the kayak has been slow so it'd be nice to get some fish in the boat for a change. I'm asking mainly about whites/hybrids, but really anything works. What tackle? Where to fish? How deep? Things like that
