I've always used different soft plastics and jigs for the spawn, but i here of a bunch of people using crankbaits and spinnerbaits for the spawn. Are you one of those people? and is so, how good does it do compared to lizards and jigs? also which crank or spinner is best for spawn? Thanks!

When the shad spawn coincides with the end of the bass spawn they can be really good.

i never use a worm or lizard. I like to use crankbaits or spinners all the time. makes them mad when something is rattling through their nest i think. Caught a 5.5 lber at ray bob a week ago on a crankbait up shallow

if i know where the fish are i slow down with plastics. if i'm searching i like to cover lots of water with the double willow spinnerbait, white or white chartreuse.

i use crank 0 to 3 foot crankbaits. ill jerk it down then let it float. to the top jerk it again etc . usually 1st or 2nd jerk over a bed its ON. the only problem with the smaller cranks is the hooks are a little small and should be changed to the next size up. or let em inhale it, which i hate.

Cranks and Spinners have generally worked well for me as searcher baits in the spawn.
