I missed out on all the crappie. Luckily the sand bass kept it interesting. I boated a dozen.

Struck out at phantom too. We didn't get as much rain as most, but with the nights near freezing over the weekend it was enuff to screw em up.

I only caught 1 nice keeper.... Gave it away...
I did however see quite a few fish... NO LIMITS .... hauled out of the barge on Winnie.
All were caught early in the day I was told.

Slow today on Lake Tyler East...Caught 15 with only six keepers all in deep water (21-28ft) drift fishing. New to the lake with today being the first day fishing for crappie. Fished from 8:30 am to 7:00 PM. Not even a bite in the shallow waters.

Skunked is the name don't ware it out. Started at bardwell not a bite...went to hams creek not a bite water was chocolate Milk...ended on alvarado with 5 bass one 8 pound which changed the mood a little

Fish are moving in males 3-5 ft, females 12 to 20 next to the shallows. Black/Chartruese hair jig and orange chartruese and black in dingier water.
I have been catching all my fish casting and jigging back with a high lift and slow fall 1/16 oz. They are scattered...one here 2 there etc. Some small, some up to 2 pounds, Females are following the balls of shad so they are not staying in one place. You have to hit em on the head with it.

I got lucky this time that I didn't get skunked. But it's because I haven't been able to fish lately or else I would carry the same dilemma. It's tough this time of year due to constant 'weather and water level' changes. However, jackpot is awaiting among us if we search hard enough...
