We went last year. Lake was about same level. We had to go 1 to 1 1/2 mile downriver to find the best holes. We were 1 or 2 bends from sight of the 71 bridge. Sandbar block most of the water there. We drug kayaks but would have been easier just to walk. Caught several 15 to 18" but ran out of light

I doubt there are any fish up there. The lake is not close to the level it was last year 30 feet lower right now.

I guess you're right. Taking the kayak out tomorrow. Guess we'll have to go to the Narrows. Hopefully there is enough water up there.

I went last week looking for a place to launch right after the rain, it was probably 2 miles from the bridge on 71 to ANY water.
no place to launch within 30 miles of there. the rain we got had ZERO runoff. i think there are still a few people launching from the beach at pace bend but you need a 4wd for sure.

Its gonna take a huge flash flood to get Travis up. Pace bend launch has been closed for around 2 years I think.
