Fished Rayburn yesterday and had a good time. Caught lots of fish and enjoyed seeing some "hay grass" and other bushes in the water. The lake is currently 4.77 ft. below pool.
The only problem was the lack of any quality size fish... we caught a ton of buck bass but did not even stumble across a decent female. We prob caught 35 fish in 1/2 day and the biggest being 2.5 lbs.
I am very familiar and experienced on that lake. We fished anywhere from 1ft to 8 ft over grass.... and nothing but small buck bass. It was fun but very puzzling that we didnt catch even one decent size fish.
usually u will at least stumble across a few good ones

Dont feel bad, I prefished friday all day and found some good fish on beds, tournament day though, checked them over 6 times and never got back to there bed for some unknown reason, warmer water temp and no pressure (was way up lake in no man land). We only ended up with a 8.34lb limit of males we caught. We did find some nice fish on a flat with stumps and grass just couldnt get them in the boat. Smart fish would wrap up in the trees and get loose. Very tough day for the bigger fish.
