I have about 7 rods and baitcasters that are in good condition that I want to put to good use. Maybe a charity that takes kids fishing or something. Anyone know of a legit charity?

Parks and wildlife has a rent equipment system, where people that don't have what they need can pay a small rental fee and fish on weekends or whatever. Not sure about charities.

Thanks for the suggestion Blues. I'll certainly entertain that if nothing else comes up.

I teach an Outdoor Education class at Llano Junior High. We are currently doing a fishing unit and many of my students do not have a rod and reel. Many have parents that have never even taken them fishing. I am always looking for donated equipment for my students to use. Rods, reels, and cheap tackle. We are not a charity, but they would go to some very deserving kids.

Coach Carter - I'm not sure where you are located but I'll give them to you if you'd like. I'll verify tonight what I have to see if it's worth your while but I'm thinking it's at least 6 rods and baitcasters, maybe a few more. I'm in Lewisville - ever in the area to pick it up? I work in the Farmers Branch area as well.

Llano is northwest of Austin. I am not sure when the next time I will be up in your neck of the woods.

You can find ask your local Boy Scouts if they'll take them.
Often they do.

Some people go to church and think about fishing. Some go fishing and think about God.

Youth in the wild outdoors. They take fatherless boys fishing. A guy named ken runs it. His name on the forum is bass wax. You can find his recent posts in the carp section.
