Anyone have an opinion on how many rods is too many when chasing a hard fighting species like, blues, hybrids, stripers, etc..? I'm currently using two Scottys up front, with my heavy spinning gear, dangling live or cut shad at varied depths, while at the same time casting spoons or slabs with my bass rod.(three rods total) I had considered adding one or two more facing toward the rear of the yak. Any thoughts?

I slow trolled with four rods for crappie from the yak one time. I'll never do it again. I actually had 7 fish on at one time. Fun and not fun at the same time. Tangles galore!!!

I would say two rods up front is a handful. If I was tied up to some brush I would maybe jig for crappie while I was waiting for a bite. When I fish for flat heads I will jig brush I'm tied up to for perch to use as bait and my lines are cast in complete opposite directions so if I do get a fish on I won't get tangled. But more than one In The water usually results in a mess for me.

When anchored ill fish three out front and two out back. Once I get my bee Readys installed I'll have an extra on each side and four out back. I'm used to fishing a bunch of rods. When I drift fish I'll drift 2-3 depending on the bite.

Depends on how many rods can you handle at once.

I like to soak 1 line with bait and use another to toss a lure around when in-shore fishing at the gulf. Fresh water I use 1 at a time cuz I don't use bait cept for Carp.

I would say as many as you can keep up with. When I'm searching for fish I will put out 4 rods but if the action is really good I will only fish one.

As many as you can stand untangling. I normally fish 2 more than that number.

Even when I am chasing birds, I keep one or two trolling in the water while I am paddling to cast the next school.

Fishing crappie tourneys when they are schooled deep in Jan, I will run 6-8 spider rigged until I find them and cut back to 4 of very different lengths. Crappie are pretty quick to bring up and there is a minimum of tangles.
