Anybody fished here? I play baseball up here in Austin and have been looking for a place to fish and everyone keeps talking about Town Lake?

It's a world class lake for carp and buffalo. I don't know if you're looking for table fair but if not they fight about as well or better than anything in fresh water.
If you wanna know more the Carp/Rough Fish section is full of good information and helpful people

I would do some checking around. I remember that at one time there was a ban on eating fish from Town Lake because the polution was so bad. That's bee years ago so I don't know if that has changed. I see kayak fishermen out there, but I don't know if they are doing catch and release or catch and grease.

Fished it last month for the first time. We probably put thirty in the boat up to six pounds on plastic worms. You can't use your big motor so make sure you charge your batteries.
Also, we launched at the ramp that's a ways down from the bridge, and some dirtbag tried to steal the trailer off the truck while we were fishing. Fortunately, we had a hitch lock.
Good luck.

Wow, what color were they biting on? Don't know if we'll get to go or not with baseball and rain.
