I'm trying to plan a trip out to fish some sandbass when I get home and was wondering what the river conditions are like right now. I still have about another week or so and I'm sure it will change between now and then. I hope to get my old man into the sandies when they're spawning...he's never caught them at this time of year in the river. Hopefully the water conditions won't be too bad. Thank you for any info fellas.

It rose about 3 feet in the last 2 days. They definitely have been running good for the last 3 weeks but for some reason all the females I have been catching this year have been smaller with less eggs than normal.

I wonder when they will start coming out of the river?

I fished Thursday morning and did well. Water was low but big rain hit Thursday night and its been pouring all day here in Longview. Like Jphil12 said the fish seem smaller to me this year. Lots of smaller females and eggs were in all stages so they will be there for a couple of weeks at least. I would let the water settle down before making a trip.
