to try it? The big time rain has finally hit the Tyler area. According to Doppler radar we've had close to 3 inches today in Chapel Hill and it's still pouring. I just drove around some and all the creeks look like whitewater trout streams.

The lake has come up 6 inches in the last three days. The creek coming under 64 is starting to spill out into the flat surrounding it. If you can get from the ramp to the creek you can follow it into the main lake.

I wouldn't be surprised if you could launch there tomorrow.

Thank you, Lord!

I won't be using the 64 ramp, but I am pumped about the lake coming up! Not being a big time tournament type guy, I mostly fish for fun, and with the water so low and no cover for the bass, it has not been a lot of fun lately.

It needs to come up more before I can/will launch. Another 18 inches or so will get it. Less than 373ft give or take a tiny but and it will eat a prop if you miss your mark. I tore up plenty last year when it started dropping so I'll suck it up a little longer and keep hitting hill creek.

If it looks like it will float my boat off trailer and can Idle past powerlines I will be ready to use it. I'm in south Texas til Wednesday morning and can't wait to see how it's looking. Wife told me we had a hair over 4" so far in past few days and I'm only 1/2 mile from 64 ramp.sure hope it comes up some more.

There is definitely enough water at the bottom of the ramp to float a bass boat off the trailer. On a bet I would do it today. I think I could raise up the big moter, get on the trolling motor, troll out to the creek channel and get to the power lines that way.

At the rate the current is coming under the bridge and into the lake I don't think it is going to matter. The lake has come up 4 inches since 8:00 this morning. I think it will come up another six inches by tomorrow afternoon, maybe more.

There might be, I haven't looked since yesterday, I'll let you go first smile....

That ramp cost me a skeg and a prop in June about 6" higher than it is right now. I take the same trail to the channel every time and it just got a bit too low and I'm gun shy now lol.

I hope with run off we will see it about 2.5 ft low soon enough and then I'm all over it.

I'm not talking about running it yet, or even idling out to the creek. But...I do think I could get the boat on and off the trailer and use my trolling motor to get to the creek channel.

Hopefully it will come up another 18 inches to two feet over the next few days and we won't have to find out.

Any ramp that isn't usable when a lake is four feet low wasn't very well planned or maintained.

The lake was 4.3' low before the rain and it is currently 3.81' low and rising.

I heard that too, rumor I heard was they were going to build a new marina at the 64 ramp which will probably mean dredging it better to get it out to the main lake and alleviate this problem.

etex, I know where you're talking about but that's not me, I live near Overton/Arp but unless you're from here, no one knows where that is so I just put Tyler in for a location.

It's coming up about an inch every two hours. Hopefully that pace will keep up through tonight and tomorrow.
