I am no pro, but I only double rig when I'm fishing deep water. I use 1/8 ounce jigs giving me a 1/4 oz. to get to the bottom. I tie them a foot and a half apart, using a loop knot on the top jig to give it a little space for movement. Learned this from Saclait Pat.....and he knows what's up!

If i am fishing a shallow jig and bobber, one jig I like the double rig around bridge columns for sure
Hooking a fish is like playing string with a cat. The exact size, shape, color of string matters less than how you wiggle it- and little cats are easier to fool than big ones. John Gierach

I use the double surgeon's loop on both jigs. Water depth dictates size and distance apart I put the jigs. I haven't used two jigs shallow, 4ft or less, under a cork. But I have used two jigs vertical jigging in less than four feet, but not often.....

Shallow water, not so much. Not enough separation. Bridge fishin, absolutely.I use a 3-way swivel, with a 12" or so leader tied to a 1/16oz jig and a 24" leader tied to a 1/8oz jig. Works like a charm.

What about under a bobber in sallow water? I never have....don't see what it would hurt though. When I fish under a bobber it's usually near brush, so I only prefer losing 1 at a time.

Two jigs when spider riggin deep. Use the Huckabee loop know. Look up Todd Huckabee loop knot on Youtube. Fishing shallow 4ft or less, one jig. I seldom use a cork unless it's a slip cork with one minnow.

What about under a bobber in sallow water? I only use double jigs in shallow water under a slip cork.... About 5 inches apart, I'm not doing it to fish two depths, I try to use two different colors and two different style of jigs.... Duo Lock Snap too loop knot on the top jig + Duo Lock Snap bottom jig...

Always! sometimes I even use 3! I must admit, it hurts to lose 2 or three jigs at once. I use fireline and more often than not, the hook will bend before the line breaks. I use different colors and styles (spinner/no spinner/tied/tube) at first till I see what they want. I have caught many doubles, but still waitin on a tripple! Heck sometimes I use minnow above a jig, or vice versa.

Unless you are fishing bridges or open water, it would be the guys who want to lose 2 jigs at once.

I tied bout 50 jigs today listening to the wonderful rain outside. You might say I have jigs to burn. Just like the idea of getting them wet 2 at a time
