Do you only use the tip for tail material or will you trim up the leftover and tie one w/ it? I may heve messed up!?

The slide show explained how one can use most of the feather, but that's only if you are tying for self. I don't do that not because I don't like the remaining feather nor being wasteful, but rather saving time. Thus, the tip of the feather is all I use. Can you imaging if I am to cut cut cut and line up parts to make each jig? 3 to 4 times the normal time to whip up one jig would NEVER allowed me to meet dealine.
Nevertheless, if tying for self, using the longer side feather can create a very finess looking jig!
