Someone should come up with a telescoping knife on a stick...for just such emergencies.

Can't believe you guys are fighting over the dinks that live in that creek! You can have it and the Rio Grande north of the Valeno.

Trim your prop out of the water while you're fishing over there...

The mexican game warden has been gone for at least 6 months. She got reassigned to Cancun since she was abusing her authority and they couldn't fire her. Anyway, there is nobody checking so far anymore. BUT do get your liscence because if you get caught, you will have a lot to loose.

Never been checked and wouldnt ever want to without being able to produce a current Mexican licence if I were told to. Also, you dont need to be on the Mexican side to have problems with gill nets while boating at Falcon. A friend and I were fishing a bay on the US side up the river yesterday and watched three gill netters check 2 lines well into the back of the bay. When an enforcement boat came up the river they ran on plane to a place protected from sight of the opening into the river until the boat passed and then continued to harvest fish as quickly as they could and left. This happens all the time!

They sneak over and put them on the U.S. side also.

I take it no one has ever been asked to show a Mex license after 1500 looks. Why does anyone buy these things?

37 years ago, when I first started fishing Amistad, the Mexican fishing license used to cost $.25
I've bought one every time I've been there because I didn't want to take the chance on losing my fishing gear, which they can take if they want to! They can also take your boat and put you on the bank if they so desire when they catch you without a license. I've never been checked on the Mexican side and have waved at the lady game warden in the past. Just not worth the chance to not buy one.
