I plan on going down to galveston during spring break with some friends for fun but i would also like to do some fishing while we are down there. Where would be a good beach or area to fish in the galveston area that will produce anything, it doesn't matter just looking to get into some fun and fish? Thanks!

Go to the fishing pier on Seawall. They have rigged poles for rent ($8 i think) and bait... I suggest squid. The crabs will pick the shrimp right off your hook.

Cast off the pier and you can't miss!

Bring your own. Fish the rocks along the Seawall for free and you can expect to catch whiting , croaker, puppy drum, etc... using squid or shrimp rigged on the bottom. Don't use too big of a hook. I may try that week myself. Good luck!

I'm sure there will be plenty especially east of 61st Street by all the hotels. That's where the rock groins are however. You can fish off the ends of them though and probably won't have much interference from swimmers. Also you could go west and fish the beach at the State Park for a fee or even furthur west to Surfside Beach which should be a lot less crowded.

Its gonna be packed! Im gettin outta here. Leave your poles in the hotel room until your ready to use them. The piers will be packed too, head to the bay. Just drink some beer and watch the ladies.

I go down at least twice a month....ok first you can fish the pier on 61st or the new one that's open just west of the 61st pier, you can fish anywhere along the beach towards the west end and you can go on down to San Luis Pass and fish, just don't be walking out too far down there, currents get rough and will take your [censored] away...and then the bull sharks will get you. You can call Andy with Galveston Party Boats 409-763-5423 and book a trip for $25 on the party boat. Fish being mostly caught now are...Reds, trout, whitting......Don't forget to stop in at Tucker's Bait and Tackel on 61st and tell him Russell from Dallas sent you.

Any chance i might catch anything bayside at the state park this weekend?? Came down from Dallas today for some non-fishing business, but brought my rod and reel and hope to get a few hours in....IF this rain stops for a while!?!

Fish if you can when you can. That sounds like a nice setup if you're in a beachhouse. That rain shouldn't hurt the surf if you bottomfish. You'll probably catch a lot of whiting.
