So I drove out to the "Cut" this morning on Lewisville. Didn't see a single boat on the lake. Weather man screwed this one up big-time. Third cast and big hookup. 3/4 ounce chrome slab. Didn't catch another and a guy that came out after me left thirty minutes later when I did. Should have brought the kayak with me but I was scared of this 30+mph gusts we were supposed to have... Dead calm out there with a nice fog at 8am.
22.5"

P.S. Don't tell the catfish guys, but this hybrid put my bass rod/reel through more of a workout than my p.b., 26lb blue cat, did to my banking rig. Strong fighters those hybrid.

Good looking fish right there!!!

If people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles.

My first hybrid of the year. It was chunky. Shoulders as wide as the frame on my Caenan.

Anyone else notice the fish seem well fed this spring? Wonder if it was the lack of shad die-offs due to the warm winter? More food to go around? Just curious.

Slab Rookie,
That is one great looking fish! I can only imagine the tussle that big ole girl put up. And, you're secret is safe with me.

Nice one, those hibbies seem to always be in a bad mood when you hook em!
