In the summer, anything watermelon with red flake.
This time of the year? Frog patterned dynamite or dark blue telephone cables.

I had a clear blue sky yesterday and.could figure out what to throw I think it had might been the lake but I was wondering what everyone else throws on a bright sunny day The brighter the sky the tighter the strike zone. Usually a worm, jig or shakey head pitched tight to cover and let'er soak!

I caught them this week on a white spinner bait with two small willow leaf blades. That is about all i found to get a consistent bite with the blue skies.

If all else fails, try some tightlines uv soft plastics. Kind of expensive, but tried em last summer and had very good luck with them when I could not get a bite with a power worm. Thought they were a gimmick but they worked well for me. Supposed to work real good in stained water

Was using a H2O express sexy shad color, it was a 4-6 foot diver and i was running it on the bottom of the shallows hitting rocks. Before we went there i was throwing kvd 1.5 in green shad or wahtever it is... didnt get a bite. didnt get much bites at all...

If you can get away with a finesse rig on 8lb test and the snags are not too bad. Use an Izzy Rig, also called the Neko and Decky rig, 6" Zoom trick worm watermelon candy 3/32 nail weight in the nose a clear straw cut to 1/8 to a bit less than 1/4 inch slide the straw ring up to the egg sack just below the nail weight and rig with a size 1 to 1/0 finesse wide gap gamma hook, shake and hang on, limits and big uns. This is an inline wacky rig . Rig the hook thru the straw exposed towards towards the tail but back out so the hook points towards the nose of the worm . Robo Prizm Shad and Prizm Craw work really good as well, sometimes better.
When in doubt set the hook..Retie often

I experienced an incredible bite yesterday on a swimbait with not a cloud in the sky. Could not get them to hit a worm or jig but they would chase down a swimbait in 2-5 feet of water. I am just glad I figured it out because then the whooping was on. Lake Fork.

Yeah I will go with swim bait to and also a very good lure to use is the chatter bait and I'm suprised you didn't catching anything on soft plastics because usually I catch almost all the time on soft plastics but the two baits I mentioned in the beginning are the ideal lures to use and also rattle traps and spinnerbaits are good to

A little bit of an obscure lure to throw is a watermelon Zoom Speed Craw with the claws dipped in about 1/4" of chartreuse on a t-rig. It's a small package that looks realistic... give it a go especially late spring/early summer.
