Academy had these on sale for $40 down from $60 for Rod Riot.

I plan on using this for flipping, thoughts on a good reel and line to pair it with.

I was thinking about the H20 Mettle that I like so much. What line would be good for this?

Thoughts???

Thanks

20-25# Flouro. I like InvisX but just make sure you get a quality line.

Some folks say that fishin on a Sunday is a sin, but if a fish bites my line, you know I'm gonna reel him on in!

50 lb braid will get you more sensitivity...and if flipping structure, it will get you out of the thick stuff more often. as far as the reel, i assume that a mettle will work. I was told to use the 7:1 gear ratio on heavy action jig rods.

I've never bought or used braid, but I am open to the idea. Any suggestions on brand to try or to stay away from?

I have a CT100 Quantum Burner reel that is 7:1. I havent really like it with 20lb Big Game on it, but maybe braided line with the 7' rod would be a better set up for it.

I ended up putting power pro on it. I've hated this reel in the past with mono and flour on it, but with the braid, I love the thing!

Are there certain reels that just work better with certain type of line?
