I tried taking a brand new rod I bought from them the day before. I didn't have the receipt but academy will take back NO QUESTIONS ASKED. It clearly says that on bass pro shops website that they have a no argue policy also. But no.... They gave.me the biggest hassel I've ever experienced. They just screwed me over one to many times. They will never ever get another dollar from me again. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Why did you not have a receipt just one day after and why would you return a rod just one day. Just doesnt add up at all

Bass pro has always taken back anything from me, as long at is is one of their brand name products (redhead or xps).

If you used your reward card they can look up the number and print out another recipt. They have done it for me many times.

I had issues with them and I DID have the receipt. I simply wanted to trade a rod my dad bought for me online and shipped to me. It was a 6'6" medium action and I wanted a 7'6" heavy. That particular rod was priced the same in all actions and lengths and was a bps brand. The issue was it was a different UPC since it was after all a different length etc. They tried to not allow the exchange until I became unglued. Academy and even overpriced cabelas gets my $$.

I have returned 2 different items in the last 3 days, and had zero issues. They gave me a card with store credit on it both times. Love that place...of course, I shop Academy just as often.

I have had nothing but problems as well over the years....I don't buy from them unless I receive a gift card.

It seems it is getting harder to return to them, it used to be easy!

I think that Academy will get that way soon as well!

I've had receipts and had no issues, I've had receipts and had issues, and I've had no receipt and no issue. Seems to be more dependent on who you're dealing with more than the policy...

I have returned or exchanged many items over the last couple of years and have had no problems.Always use the rewards card and you will always have a reciept on file.

Broke a rod within 30 days and returned w/o receipt no issues. They should be able to check your debit/credit card transacation as well.
