Anyone ever go? I am just getting used to the fact that I can do quick trips with my new (first) kayak and going to go out for 2 or 3 hours in the morning. Usually with the boat there is way more prep so this is nice. I know the lake pretty well from the boat ramp, but wondering where I should put in with the kayak? I'd like to put in relatively close to where I am fishing.
Also, I don't normally bass fish but going to try in the morning. Are they shallow with the warm weather? Should I do plastics? Weightless or texas rig? What do you think?

You could launch by 730 or down at the wall by the dam. I'm not a bass fisherman any more but would suggest boat docks on the wind blown side of the lake.

I was there a few weeks ago and got skunked! The little beach area is a nice point to launch. The only fish we picked up on the fish finder were around the wall over by the damn. Have fun and let us know how you do.

Well amigos, I was on the water by 7 and off by 730. Maybe I'll remember to check the wind forecast next time!

I was on Weatherford for about 3 hours yesterday, I left around 2:30pm. The wind was picking up as I was heading in. I usually launch from the city park near the marina or from the park near FM730. Oh yeah, I got SKUNKED.

I think I casted three times. It was pretty terrible. I put in off 730 but will try by the marina next time.

I went this past summer and we caught about 30 sand bass / hybrid fish.
Looks like a good place to catch some bass though.

I have been out there in my Yak many times. It is very hit or miss out there. I have had great days and horrible days. I am in the process of selling my boat now that I have a yak. It is so much easier, and so many less problems. I have gone out in the middle of big lakes in my yak and I catch more fish in it due to not be able to run and gun. I find myself fishing areas more thoroughly, and fishing areas I would usually ignore.

Jason is a knucklehead, but he is my boy. He has worked for me since 2007. Great guy. I have been slowly getting him in to hunting and fishing.

We are going to have to meet up at the lake this summer on a calmer day. I can't take this wind!

Ya sorry to steal your thread! I'd like to meet on a calmer day. I got skunked last time so I've got to fish it again!
