preferebly one that doesn't shed real bad and get fur all over the carpet, also really furry long haired dogs get hotter easier in the summer.

My pit loved going on the boat with me, I miss her frown

If you get a lab they are great but they like to swim to much. Spend as much time getting them out of the water as you do fishing but they are great companions.

My yellow lab is great in the boat. I do shave her down in the summer to help keep her cool and to help with any shedding. And I dont' mind taking a break every now and then to let her take a swim. She does not go on tournament day.

Also remeber to keep a small tupperware bowl with dog food and another one that you can poor water in for them to drink.

When you get on the front deck to fish, put the water and food bowls under the console to keep them from getting too hot.

My old girl trying to site fish!!

Teacup Chuhuahua - because they fit on the hooks better and wiggle for a long time.

J/K - I love dogs, especially for dinner.

J/K again - I really do love dogs but for fishing and being out all day my pugs don't do well in the heat!

Believe it or not my Pomeranian loved to go fishing on the boat!!! He would get in the water and swim around the boat a little then get back in and kick back. Bark at jugs, stumps, and snakes. Even had him want to take on hogs on the bank and at Choke Canyon he made a 12' alligator mad enough to come at the boat with bad intentions!!!

He died last year; killed by three pit bulls. I'm bettin' he gave an account of himself before he went down!

Kody was a good dog for a fur ball!!! angel2
