When do yall think its to windy

Today would qualify...25-30 mph-gusts to 35, out of the SW. New boat does handle it ALOT better that the old one.

When you have a big bow in your line and it's useless to even try and detect a strike.

When you cast out and the lure flies right back at you and you have a birdnest in your reel.

When you go to the restroom and there are whitecaps in the toilet water.

Depends on what lake your fishing, what kind of fishing your doing, and how bad you wanna catch a few. You can find protected water on just about every lake in the area close to a ramp, or you can pick some of the smaller lakes like Grapevine or Worth and run wherever you want.

There are a lot of factors that go into that. Your boat size and your experience,skill and ability, wind direction, distance from shore and so forth.

Basically if you pull up and look at the water have to think about whether it is too rough, then it's too rough...

If it's whitecapping my 17 footer stays on the trailer.

Too windy to fish is nonsense. Experienced the mouth of burro a few times during some high wind. I never never want to do that again but my partner did prove to me it's never too windy to catch fish.

Guess it all depends on how big a pair ya got - Been out on Toledo Bend in 35 to 40 MPH winds in a 16 foot Nitro .....but I don't want to do it again.

No set rule for me. It really depends on the lake. One year the wind ruined a planned trip and I just headed to Caddo. I do not really care for Tawokani if it is much over 10. I fished Ray Roberts in 30 one time but it was during the spawn and we were in a protected cove. It was still not fun. My rule on the open water lakes is when I start to take several in sucession over the bow.
