We are way past needing it. Lake Meredith is gone.

Ground is starting to get dry. Had grass fires in Smith County yesterday. Lake Palestine has stopped rising and possibly started to drop a little.

This is how last year started, rains in Jan=Feb, then nothing.

We need another 4 to 6 inches of rain NOW to finish filling the lakes and rebuild he subsoil ground moisture.

Nothing survives without adequate, good old fashion rain.

Bring it On.

The Hill Country and South Texas can still use a lot more rain. We have had a nice wet winter which has helped a lot. The bigger bodies of water are still low. Bring on the rain! cheers

When you fish after a rain, do you fish deeper lake to try to avoid the muddy water from the run off?

It will mess the fish up for a while. Just when it was starting to get good.

I dont like the fact that it will mess up the crappie, but love catching a boat full of blues in some running water....RC is still around 3 ft. low and we need the rain.

Looks like 2-5 inches of rain right now with more East. If we keep getting rain, the lakes will be closed like 2007. I hope it sets up further west and fills west texas lakes up.
