Cooper has cleared up some what but it has warmed up a whole lot! The water temp is ranging from 56 to the mid 60 in the afternoon. The hybirds and sandbass have started moving SHALLOW on the main lake points and deeper main lake banks. I am using a 1/2oz jig head with a 4in sassy shad from moestackleshop.com. I have found the hybirds in as shallow as 2ft. The warmer the water gets in the afternoon the better. This is a GREAT time to catch some big cooper lake hybirds. I still have a few days open in March and April. It is a blast catching these hybirds in shallow water!!

i would love to come out with you and see if I can catch one on my flyrod. If they are that shallow I could do it.

Are they pretty shallow consistently or just every once in a while.

I will catch them in the shallows till at least the end of april. Last year they stayed shallow through the middle of may. I would like to get some fly fishermen on these shallow hybirds..

I usually fish a 9' 4 WT, with a 2# tippet, it keeps the fish smell off of my hands.

It ain't easy making it look easy.
