That's what I've been using for the past year, I heard about Sunline being so good but expense, so I was wondering if this was the same stuff Academy is now selling for $14.99.

Sunline has several versions of fluorocarbon line.

If they are handling Sunline Shooter Id be shocked. Pleasantly so mind you, but still shocked.

Sunline has cost me 2 real nice fish. Tried it last spring at Fork and changed back to Seguar after 1 outing. I don't remember which if it was shooter or sniper. Good luck.

Havent tried sunline, but I have no complaints with Seguar, it casts great, great feel, and knot strength is pretty solid.

I haven't used the high end sunline (shooter, sniper), but have used the sunline super. It's probably the 14.99$ spool you are talking about. I have used that, segaur red label, and vicious pro elite and like the sunline super the best at those price points. Main thing I use flouro for is traps and cranks. If I flip, it's braid.

What pound test were you fishing? Sunline 25 lb. test is the same diameter as Seaguar InvizX. When I fish Fork I never use Sunline is less than 22 lb. test unless I specifically am going with a Fork-Finesse technique. Note from the table below that Sunline 16 lb. test is the same diameter as InvizX 12 lb. test.

You can NOT just go by pound test ratings with line. You MUST also take into account the line diameter.

Good Info^^^^^^

Sunline Super is a single resin Flouro. That is what I've seen at Academy.

Sniper is triple resin. Different line.

I've used both, night and day difference.

Sunline Sniper is alot thinner and more manageable than any flouro I've used. Fished Seaguar for about 8 years. Sniper is better IMHO.

I used to fish Invisx and Trilene 100%, then I got shown the shooter fluoro by Sunline, its all I use now. I would be shy of the academt Sunline, I was not a big fan of Carbon Pro by Seaguar either. I dont cheap out on line.

To respond to both RBO, and SkeeterAg99:

Ive tried a LOT of different lines including fluoros. For the last couple of years Ive been fishing very, very little due to the economy. Indeed, Ive not been fishing at all for the past year, and a half or so. So Ive not fished all the lines that are out in the market as of now.

Of the fluorocarbon lines that I have fished, Im convinced that Sunline Shooter is the best fluro money can buy for baitcasting gear, and Sniper is the best for spinning gear.

The down side is the cost. Big $$$$ for these two lines especially Shooter.

InvizX is an excellent line all around. I also think that Silverthread Fluorocarbon is an excellent value. In a pinch I would use Berkley 100%. The other fluoros that Ive tried have not been all that positive. Vanish just back away slowly and then RUN!
