Have always heard several "in the know" crappie guys talking about slipping on the chest waders and fishing the cattails during the spawn on these 2 lakes...but I've never heard them say what areas of the lakes these traditional spots are!? Cedar Creek is the 4th biggest lake in Texas (I believe)...might take me a while to go all the way around it in a pair of "chesties"...just wondering if anyone could point a direction...would be much obliged. I don't have a problem with the getting out and giving it a go and am not worried about copperheaded rattle moccasins so much...just have always wanted to try some wading action during the spawn...

Good luck trying to get that information out of anyone. Most people aren't going to give up there spot. Try any of the cattails with a hard bottom around them. A creek running close by is another great thing to look for on the map. Hope this helps some.

Off 78 by Mallard on Lavon. There are trees on both sides of the bridge there that normally hold crappie during this time. BUT with no water there will be no wading this year. It's a bummmer.
Excuses only satisfy the person that makes it!
