Thinking bout heading out in the morn. Conroe is about an hour and I haven't fished it before, while Fayette is a out 1 HR 40 minutes and have fished it before. I hear Fayette is fishing a little tough right now. How is the bite at Conroe? Where would you launch at conroe if that's the recommendation you give? Not in a tourney, just want to get out of the house.

Gotcha, would you agree you have a better chance at catching a giant at Conroe?
I enjoy catching 3 pounders but with it being the time of year to catch a giant I want to put myself in that situation if possible.

Thoughts ?

I don't fish Conroe enough to tell you for sure. I was catching 3-6 lb fish at Fayete. I have caught some big fish out of there as well.

I fished Conroe yesterday and it reminded me why I save my money and go to Falcon.

I'm pretty new to the lake I fished open water humps yesterday and caught a few 2-3lb's and i fished the hell out of peach creek all the way to the back and caught 3 males spinner and plastics. Water temps were in the mid-upper 60's thought they would be in there heavy with all the stumps but I guess there was a reason why I was the only boat back in there. I think you have to put your time in on Conroe it's a tough lake. A buddy of mine fished Fayette last week and caught some quality fish but not a lot of numbers during the cold front

Comorant Dung has made Peach Creek toxic.

Fished Conroe today and only managed three dinkers, but lost one pretty nice one(3lbs or so) at the boat. Fished primarily Peach Creek, and with water temperatures around 70 degrees I figured they would be in the shallows. Not so much! The lake was extremely calm today and overall a good day to be on the water. Hopefully the bite picks up soon!

I went last weekend and had 7, 1 to 2 pounders, and my dad had a real nice one hooked, I went to net it and it spit the hook before I could net it. It was 8 to 10 pounds atleast. Caught everything in about 4 ft of water. Im gonna try it out tomorrow.

Gonna be CROWDED...Most definitley... From what some friends have told me recently, the bite has been TOUGH! 1 to 3 fish, but good ones when you hook some, nontheless....The water on the North end is still off-colored but clearing. Not sure about the South. I fish Conroe during the week, when I get a chance. And in my neighborhood- Wish the water was up about 3 more foot though...
